Course description

Otitis can be a prolonged and frustrating condition, and in some cases, conservative treatment alone is not sufficient to achieve lasting resolution. In these situations, surgical intervention can play a key role in successful management. This webinar covers surgical techniques such as the Zepp/Hinz procedure, vertical ear canal resection, and bulla osteotomy. The different surgical approaches to ear disease will be explained, alongside indications for surgery and recommendations for postoperative care.

Dr. Thomas Rohwedder studied Veterinary Medicine at the University of Leipzig and completed his surgical training at the Small Animal Clinic of the University of Leipzig, where he also earned his doctoral degree focusing on elbow joint kinematics in healthy and elbow dysplasia-affected dogs. He became a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Surgeons (ECVS) and later served as Senior Clinician at the Small Animal Clinic of the Freie Universität Berlin. Since 2022, he has been 60Head of Surgery at the VALERA Small Animal Centre in Berlin.
